I could care less if the Clintons are liars; no one is perfect. Compared to most politicians, I think that both Bill & Hillary are pretty honest.
Just remember, he smoked, but he didn't inhale.
Annnnnd......
He did NOT have sexual relations with that woman.
As the top representative of our country during his presidency, both of those things were major no-no's to be lying about. Given how this country has, for the most part, changed its views on pot, admitting that he inhaled wouldn't, in my opinion, been that big of a deal.
Denying he had an affair was in really poor taste. For the leader of the country to publicly do that, was shameful. Honesty goes a long way and when the trust of the people is violated, it takes a long time to earn that back. If anything, Hillary gets more credit in my book than Bill simply because she was the bigger person and chose to stay married to him, even after the public knowledge of the affair. She is by no means perfect and has her own set of scandals to deal with, but she (to our knowledge) has never violated the sanctity of her marriage.
Everyone has skeletons in their closet. The thing is not leaving the door open so they fall out because, depending on the skeleton, people are going to judge your behavior, moreso if you are a public figure. There's more of an image to uphold. Billions of people have heard of the Clintons. Billions of people have not heard of me. I'll still be judged for the skeletons that have fallen out of my closet, but that judgement doesn't fall nearly as hard on me as it does for someone who is a public figure.
