Prior to that, I rolled my own from source to get full-disk encryption before any of the major players offered it. What a pain in the ass.
Before that, Gentoo. Even earlier I dabbled in Red Hat, Fedora, Slackware, etc.
I used BSD for years in between Fedora 3 and Ubuntu.
Frankly, I don't care for the direction the major distros are taking and am seriously considering going back to BSD.
I'm also thinking installing BSD next to my Arch but it won't let me install it on logical partition and when I try to install it on primary partition it shows me partition size of 192TB which I can't change and if I click on install I get I/O error. So yeah, no BSD for me.
