Hey Skipper,
You know what I think is sad, someone with an atheistic view of the world that indoctrinates their poor children with these lies. That's sad.
What horrible hope you atheists give your children, to tell them that everything they experience, love, joy and the "wonderful" sufferings of life are all just the result of some chance!
Your view of the world makes me sick and most especially the fact that you have the audacity to try and propagate these depressing lies.
I completely disagree with your mother's view of terminally ill Catholics. I also work in health care my friend!
I know of a godless person that was recently diagnosed with terminal cancer and let me tell you....there is NO peace in this man. He has secluded himself from family, not letting anyone see him and spends his time "living" in complete denial. He's not working at spending any special time with his wife, he's depressed beyond words and still his obduracy stops him from seeking God.
You talk about panic, he's consumed with it as he contemplates his loss.
By God's grace, we Catholics have Hope, right up until our last breath and no one can take it away from us.
Trust me Skipper, you'll believe in hell when you're there.
You think I'm lacking charity? Bullshit. The stubbornness of you poor souls warrants clear and unambiguous words.
If someone's about to walk off a cliff and you suddenly pull them away. How do you think they'll react...they'll be pissed! Until they realize what a colossal mistake they were about to make.

The evidence for God is over-whelming for anyone that's willing to step down from his ego. Yes, it's your ego that's getting in the way.

And when you're done thinking, PRAY FOR HELP. He's waiting...God's been waiting from the day you were conceived.
It takes just the slightness effort on your part and He'll meet you where you are. Don't wait to be a saint, it won't happen.

Not to do some kind of twisted sin "bragging" but sadly I've probably done it all. If God can be merciful with me, He can be merciful with anyone.
