I am not so sure CL. If you think about the man that got shot and had his hands by his side. I have watched the video and I have perfect 20/20 vision, yet not even I can make out if he had a gun in his hand or not. We can only take the policemans word that he had a gun (I mean for what other reason would he shoot, since the force has to be justified and if the guy is just mouthing off, then that doesn't justify the shooting) and we can only take the word of eyewitnesses that he didn't have a gun. The proof from both chest cam and dashcam are not conclusive to state one or the other. Either way, there is a strong possibility that by default, the policeman will get off.
I wasn't referring to any particular scenario. I don't know enough about what happened to make a judgement call on whether it actually was self defense or not. But if it was, I do believe that it is justified.
"Of course, everyone will claim they respect someone who tries to speak the truth, but in reality, this is a rare quality. Most respect those who speak truths they agree with, and their respect for the speaking only extends as far as their realm of personal agreement. It is less common, almost to the point of becoming a saintly virtue, that someone truly respects and loves the truth seeker, even when their conclusions differ wildly."
