My son is gay. He has my FULL support. His lifestyle choice is no ones business but him and his partner. Now, that said, he's only 14. When he's 18 and on his own, I would hope that I have taught him enough about being careful, that he is responsible, but life offers no guarantees.
I don't know if your son had a similar experience to this, but upon reflection, it is really illustrative to me as an adult:
when I was in third grade (IANMTU) I noticed the junior high boys smelled good, after PE in the gym on their way to the locker room.
No choice, no satanic demon casting an evil spell on me, just an 8 year old boy noticing something no one else in his grade did.
And I think even then, it shows a pattern in my preference, even to this day, the older boys are fucking hot.
LOL, watching Flipper, even when Bud was much closer to my age, I was always more interested in Sandy, his older brother. And now watching the reruns, JFC, Porter is smoking!
Well, he's registered here. Let's see what he has to say when he comes back home next weekend.
I'm not shy about talking to him with regards to stuff like this. Honestly, if it helps me be a better parent to know what sorts of things to expect, then I can be of better support to him.
