I'd be more willing to give aid to people who are working and not making it or barely scraping by rather than to people who can work but don't. But the point is that Republicans tend to lump all poor together. According to them, if someone is poor, they just need to go out and get a job. Unfortunately, they may already have a low-paying job. And it's easy to tell someone to go get a job when you yourself have one, but sometimes there's not a lot of work to be found out there.
