Or in the second idea you could take out the random requirement and just say that if you write or get a message you have to send it on to eight users of your choice, but you don't put any signature in the message so the receivers don't know if you wrote it or if you're passing it on. Then you'd get the feelgood factor of being a chosen recipient... and the sense of someone deliberately addressing you... but at the same time it wouldn't be a popularity contest with people potentially feeling left out because of a) the external limit/requirement of eight recipients and b) the spreading-like-wildfire, exponential, effect; you might have to send to eight people dozens of times throughout the day, so you'd have plenty of opportunity to vary your recipients, and you might even end up getting sent one that you authored and be able to send it out again to another eight It sounds like it would be really fun on the day
