It doesn't work that way.
We do not need to defend the case that a god, or gods, do not exist.
You are the one that has come here to provide your case that a god does exist. It is up to you to prove your case. You have the burden of proof.
At its most basic, atheism is a response to theistic claims. And all that we have to defend, is that you have not met the burden of proof.
So, can you do that?
If your first (fallacious) argument is any example, it would seem not. Hopefully you didn't open with your strongest argument.
You'd believe if you just opened your heart" is a terrible argument for religion. It's basically saying, "If you bias yourself enough, you can convince yourself that this is true." If religion were true, people wouldn't need faith to believe it -- it would be supported by good evidence.
