Newt is an open and notorious adulterer. And has been for decades.
And he's had considerable support from the christer/fundie/evangel folks all along. He's a definite step in the progression of the Christian community embracing moral decay and cultural rot.
It seems almost quaint to note Nancy Reagan forbidding Maureen and Michael Reagan, children Ronald Reagan had fathered with his first wife Jane Wyman, from being on the stage as Ronald Reagan accepted the Republican nomination, since she feared it would be reminding the religious folks that Ronald was pandering to for their votes, that he was in fact not one of them as a divorced and openly remarried man.
Fast forward from 1980 to today, and look how the morals have slid in the Moral Majority!! And remind yourself, these Moral Majority types still assert an eternal and unchanging God.
Well, maybe God doesn't change, but they've certainly changed His Word. And not gradually over centuries, in my lifetime!!!
Makes it awkward to be approached these days by presumed Christians with their amazingly variable morals ain't it ?
