Haha totally. I mean... yeah sure my true friends will love me for me and not expect me to please them. And I don't expect my friends to please me either... but they do without even meaning to Just by making me smile and making me feel valued when they treat me well
So yeah... in that sense I am not here to please my friends.
But at the same time... it's only natural for me to want to please people I care about, right? I can please my friends just by being myself without being a people pleaser
Like, if I have a girlfriend in the future... I'd certainly want to please her. And it's the same with friends only more platonic and less romantic and sexual
Hehe
Yep, agreed Just saying imo it shouldn't come from a sense of need/obligation; of course we want to do nice things for our friends and make our friends happy... for instance when Christmas comes I don't really care if I get a present or not, I actually get more joy from giving... but all I'm saying is that it shouldn't be based on the fear of losing a friend or whatever. Not saying it is/was the case with you, but just saying it as a general thing.
