I will say that there was a Libertarian on the ballot this year, for state senator I believe it was. Of course here in a red state I don't think he won against the Republican. But you're right, I rarely ever see third party candidates on the ballots unless it's a presidential election year, unless it's the odd Libertarian running for a state seat.
