Tibs, I'm not saying women have it perfect but at least they have something. Men are pretty much fucked in terms of resources they can have access to in case of abuse. Just look at domestic violence support websites, for women they say "If you are a victim of domestic violence of any kind contact us." and for men they say "If you are afraid of engaging in domestic violence please contact us. We care about your safety.", I'm paraphrasing but that's basically what they say.
According to one famous model by a feminist men are literally incapable of being victims of domestic violence. Imagine that. A man that got his face beat up goes looking for support and what he sees is "If you are afraid of engaging in domestic violence please contact us. We care about your safety."
Plus there's lots of different social stigma attached with male victims vs female victims. Whenever the public hears about female victims they immediately go into protective mode and wonder oh you poor thing but when it comes to male victims the gut reaction is either to laugh or to wonder what kind of loser he must be to not only be a victim of abuse but to actually whine about it.
Just look at for example a man getting kicked in the sack, people laugh their ass off at this. Male abuse is pretty much mainstream comedy.
