Patricia Churchland? She's kind of like a female Daniel Dennet in the sense that she's well-versed in both neuroscience and philosophy and likes to talk about how the former affects the latter. I don't think she spends much time arguing over religion, so I can't say for certain she's an atheist. But she spends quite a bit of energy arguing for a physical reductionist view of the brain, i.e. the soul is bullshit.
Note: I did find the one book of hers I read, "Touching a Nerve," to be underwhelming.
