RE: How literally should we take the Qur'an ?

If one of the holy books was "from God", rather than just written by some bunch of guys, you'd think I'd be able to tell. Right? For example, the Bible and the Quran are both as rubbish as each other from my point of view. If one of them is truly divine, it's indistinguishable from a load of crap. That's not very nice of God. Or impressive.
And of course, why should we assume the "correct" book has even been written yet?
