Because if you break what Jesus says down, He commands that "unless people divorce to marital unfaithfulness" and they divorce and remarry they will be committing adultry.
Unfaithful to the marriage means unfaithful to our vows/The marriage vows we take inorder to be united before God. Vows plural not vow singular.
Meaning all of our vows, love (not feeling/duty) honor, obey, yadda yadda yadda.. Not just the adultery bit. there is more to being married than just not sleeping around.
Back in Jesus' Day men would marry as a way of sleeping around. They would marry and then quickly divorce citing they way she cooks or keeps a house. Or any trivial little thing. Jesus by telling men they must remain married unless she breaks one of her Vows was a harsh spit in the eye of the religious establishment who permitted these nonsense divorces.

If a gay person wants to believe what I do, they are always welcome to do so. all they must do is identify their sexual sins like I identify my sexual sins, and all is forgiven. They like me will have the same standing before God as I do if not maybe alittle more, depending on their work and life.
