RE: How not to start a conversation with a skeptic...I think

I don't really know why theists begin an argument/debate, most of the time. Occasionally they seem genuinely interested, but so often (on this forum) it seems to just be them trying to catch us out or making themselves feel better. I think we attract the aggressive/insecure types.
If someone wants to try and convince someone of something, there has to be some common ground. If you want to convince a sceptic of something, I agree with you, you need to acknowledge that logic and evidence are going to be extremely important. If that means brushing up on logical fallacies and science/testability, then it's worth the work. Otherwise you might as well just be holding up pictures of different colored animals.
