He was doxxing a student, sending out personally identifying information to his Twitter followers because she was a trans person that Milo felt couldn't pass. His alt-right army was sending death threats and threatening personal relationships with this person. This is the same reason why reddit shut down /r/alt-right yesterday. It gets actually dangerous.
That was the reason that the students were protesting in the first place. The college decided to cancel the speech as a result of protest. I don't know how this is restricting Milo's free speech in any way. In fact, this is how democracy works. Enough people showed up and voiced their opinion, and the college listened to them. He could still post up at a local park and give his speech.
To equate what happened here to the president freezing out any media outlet that reports on him negatively is just lunacy.
