Yes there is some variability involved but yes also much agreement about what the right things to focus on should be. However that doesn't mean you ask a politician what things they think the press should focus on. Nor is the right thing "right" because it serves some political end. The essential function of a free press is to provide accountability. That is exactly why Trump is so angry with the press. He resents being held accountable and has resisted this his whole life.

Sure this 'garbage' bothers you because you probably voted for the maniac and your better nature makes you squirm when you see just what an abomination you have visited upon us all. I don't think you should ignore it. You should hold yourself accountable.
