Regarding Trump - he won, despite the MSM being mostly against him. I think it's more likely that he's playing them, than that he's really angry with them.

IMO the left is setting itself up for no gains, and possibly losses, in 2018. By constantly opposing every word out of Trump's mouth, they're giving him an excuse if he doesn't produce. His base will blame the lack of production on the opposition and be energized.
Really, if the left wants to win in 2018, they should let it be business as usual. That way, if Trump doesn't produce, he doesn't have an excuse.
