Reminds me of my stepdad who said he hated Americans but he realizes that's racist. I said Americans are a nation not a race so it's not racist. He took that as an "oh so it's okay then" failing to grasp that it's still bigoted as fuck. I didn't bother explaining it to him.

I think there's a huge difference between hating a country and pointing out that a country has an uninformed populace that makes stupid decisions politically.

Down here in Texas there's plenty of bigotry from the "loving" Christian conservatives for the whole world to live off though, so no worries of it going away.
