Parts of the press being excluded by the government is unheard of in all parts of the free world. The government in a democracy isn't entitled to hand out priviliges. It's supposed to respond to the people and to serve the people.
For you to have a different understanding just show how little you understand and value in terms of democracy.
What about exclusive interviews? Politicians do them all the time. Is that undemocratic?
