Only problem is the Aztec sacrifices weren't unwilling victims. They were actually honoured and were only too eager to be the star of the show. I don't imagine there's too many modern religiosos who would understand that concept.
As they Catholic church discovered during the inquisition, there is nothing a person won't admit or agree to if properly "persuaded".
