No it did not. Other religions and even ones completely independent of yours have flood mythology. The Epic of Gilgamesh is also a flood myth. In his story he is warned of an impending flood, builds a boat to save his family and livestock.
Humans back then were not worldwide travelers so a local flood could seem like the entire world to them. There was never a worldwide flood as the bible would have you believe, it is scientifically impossible.
