1966: The Doctor Who serial "The War Machines", broadcast 25 June - 16 July, depicts a global connection of computer systems governed by a central intelligence.
1969: ARPANET, the precursor to the internet, is established.
1975: In the Doctor Who serial "Terror of the Zygons", Brigadier Alastair Gordon Lethbridge-Stewart addresses the UK Prime Minister by telephone as "Ma'am".
1979: Margaret Hilda Thatcher becomes Britain's first woman Prime Minister.
Why are we not worshipping the good Doctor?
