But capitalism doesn't work, as evidenced by the increased polarisation of wealth, the slowing of innovation (true innovation now, not introducing new bells and whistles to existing products) and economic performance since the reintroduction of the capitalist system in the late '70s/early '80s. The world is less productive, less capable of figuring out things and more prone to catastrophe since the post-war social democratic consensus (which meant putting strong and severe limits on profiteering, the one rule of capitalism being "there are no checks nor balances on what can be done with capital") was ditched.
Ok, it does actually work, but not to the ends given when its supposed virtues are being sold and it's extolled as the best system bar none. The purpose of capitalism is make the rich richer, and make it easier for them to appropriate the work and the capital of the less fortunate. That is why capitalism doesn't want rules and regulations, because the whole point of the system is to make it easier for much to get more. Hence the fact that 62 people own half the world's wealth.

That's pretty much what mine looks like. Interesting I seem to disagree with everything you say.
The political compass questionnaire is very rough, and very much calibrated to a US audience. I scored a-10;-9.5 simply by answering all questions the way a typical European social democrat would.
