This is one of those moments I realize that, no matter who is put as the head of a state, no matter how corrupt, imbecile, retarded, fucked up in every possible way, there will still be a good portion of the population who supports him, and after he's gone they will say "He was the best president that we ever had!"

"President" is a title, but so is "King" and "Prime minister" and all amount to head of state. Un may view himself as a savior to his followers, but so did Stalin and the Castro Family. China is a closed state too, and despite what people think, even they have elections. Humans have a tendency to support that which they are familiar with, even when it comes at the cost of others.

The downside to our species bad use of logic, is that most humans cannot see the long term picture. That no matter what labels we hide behind, no matter what social orders we justify with our heros, nobody escapes life alive. 

So what we are left with is a species merely amounts to a fight over resources. I think the sooner our species and the more in our species recognize this, the more cooperation we can foster and the less global conflict we will have.
