Don't forget the very similar Oral Roberts University also had a law department, and it was good enough to produce an alumni who would go on to heighten the standard of American political discouse in a manner only Michelle Bachmann could.
As to the word University itself, fundamentalist yokels believe so long as they append the word University to whatever junk they try to push, the junk automatically becomes respectable. Amongst the pentacostals there is a "financial peace university" which teaches such stuff as how to default on your housing mortgage while staving off eviction so you can render what is due onto banks onto god instead. They even issue a diploma certifying your successful matriculation in the art of defrauding for god. The same church where that is popular also offers other "Universities", including "University of the Supernatural", and "University of Interpreting your dreams".
