The Bible is clear that those born of God do not commit sin.

So obviously the scripture you posted is not speaking of the elect, what point were you trying to make?
It says, clearly, one of you. The author was talking to believers, no? How can one "wander from the truth" if they are not part of The Elect to begin with?
