I don't think it needs to be quite that extreme (and coming from me, that's saying something). Our brains are designed to compartmentalize, that's just how they work, so we can't help separating things into categories, as I've learned in psychology and sociology classes I've taken. What we can and should do, collectively, is be conscientious of this and take responsibility for what we say and do when it comes to people from different ethnic backgrounds, like catch ourselves when we are about to make an assumption based only on their race or ethnicity and think twice so we're not offensive or treat them differently for no other reason than that. We're none of us perfect but we can be better and do better. We'll never understand why we do half the stupid shit we do but we can try to curb our stupidity as far as creating more divisiveness along racial lines.
Religions were invented to impress and dupe illiterate, superstitious stone-age peasants. So in this modern, enlightened age of information, what's your excuse? Or are you saying with all your advantages, you were still tricked as easily as those early humans?
