John 19:31 tells why the body of JC and the other two victims were taken down-
"Because the Jewish leaders did not want the bodies left on the crosses during the Sabbath, they asked Pilate to have the legs broken and the bodies taken down"
PS- ijust to digress, if Jehovah's Witnesses ever try to tell you that Jesus was crucified on a stake (as they wrongly believe), slap them in the face with that verse. The breaking of crucified victims legs was so that the legs could no longer support the weight of the body, and the body would sag under gravity putting the full weight on the outstretched arms, making it impossible to breathe and bringing on a quicker death.
I don't believe that the verses from the wholly babble have any truth in them. To sell their new version of the ancient "dying and rising god" myth, the imposter Paul and others had to get the body off of the cross somehow. The Romans didn't care about the Sabbath, and they certainly didn't obey the Jewish priests. The Jews were more outraged by bodies left out to rot than other cultures. That's an even greater reason for the Romans to have left them up there.
