The use of adult language certainly has its place. Which is to say there are definitely still contexts where its use is not appropriate. To be sure, there are still contexts where using it only serves to make yourself look stupid.
But labelling Cher saying watch me bitch on twitter as vitrol is akin to responding stop with all the hate speech when someone says they don't like strawberries.
Words are not offensive. Statements are. Observe:
1. Don't be such an asshole.
2. Black people are incapable of intellect equal to or exceeding that of white people.
There are those who would find number 1 offensive and yet would have no problem with 2. I call those people assholes. And there are people who could care less about number 1 but would immediately discontinue all contact with someone in their life who embraced number 2. I call those people normal.
