Christianity is not the only religion that has conspiracy nuts claiming aliens have/will visit us.
Others claim the Ancient Egyptians prove Area 51 bullshit, and still others the ancient Mayans.
The alien conspiracy bullshit stems from laypeople living near military bases seeing technology they didn't understand.
It should not surprise anyone at all one bit that other evolved thinking life like us exists in the universe. But I'd say that even if it could move further and faster, it would still be stuck locally like we are even if it had a longer range.
If we pull our heads out of our asses as a species, I could see us using science and get lucky and end up communicating with other life, but no, I don't buy any little green men crap, religion related or not.
