When I worked as a deputy, I got so sick of dealing with lowlifes whose children had missing teeth, who ate ramen every night washed down with Red Dog, and yet who somehow managed to own a dozen sidearms of all sorts. The UK has managed to avoid going down the simpleton's 2nd Amendment path, and the fact that they have done so in general successfully calls to mind this quote from Oscar Wilde, which is more appropriate than ever:
"America is the only country that went from barbarism to decadence without civilization in between."
