RE: What Amusing or Unpleasant Experiences Have You Had At (Any Type Of) School?

There were two, both of which my mother threatened legal action against the school in my defence.
The first was refusing to say the modified Pledge of Allegiance, but using the original version. I was told I would be expelled.
That has happened again at town meetings, where the town government has everyone say the Pledge before starting business. I have been told that I could be expelled from town meetings for refusing to participate correctly.
The original pledge goes:
I pledge allegiance to the flag and to the republic for which it stands, one nation, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. (I omit the Bellamy salute that went with it - otherwise known as the Hitler salute, but use a military salute as current law allows veterans to do, which also irks my town council as I have exceptionally long hair.)
The second was the threat of withholding my diploma if I did not join the National Honour Society. As salutatorian, the school thought it scandalous that I refused to join. (My family did not have the money for it, nor was I interested in what was primarily a group of self-righteous wealthy snobs.) They were also upset that I was not going to college but instead going in the Navy, and withholding my diploma would have fouled that, so it was a serious threat. So was the second lawsuit.
