Agreed. Though I'm quiet sure religion will die out eventually. It may take a while but I'm sure it will die out. Think of how many religions of the past have faded away.
Chritianity has been wrong about the world being flat and wiches being the cause for lighting striking churches....oh and the earth being the centre of the univurse. Strangly that even though the religion remains and continues to spread delusion it has been wrong on so many accounts. It's because it changes it's claims to suit undeniable facts for which it has no choice. Science leads the way and religion is a mile behind pretending to know it all. Christians didn't know much about the earth or space until science took a look and explained it nicely.
I find theists arrogant and ignorant. They seem to think "god did it" is a suitable answer to a big question. Many also fail to understand the meaning of the word "evidence" and some like frodo attack the scientific method because they cannot use it to support their claims and that it removes the need for faith. Evidence is essential to any advancement in knowledge and understanding. To go along on belief/faith alone means you can never confirm weather it's true or not. Also for one theist on one particular religious views also tends to fail to understand the atheistic position of reason. One such question being which god and why. To simply reject one over another takes serious reason with evidence to back it up. Frodo for example rejects countless religions/beliefs/gods and I have not seen him give an answer why he chooses christianity over islam or mormon beliefs. Mention the need for evidence and he attacks the word evidence itself.
As longs as there are people out there that can't be bothered to read and study, then there will be plenty of delusional people out there ready to be part of a religion.
Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence - Carl Sagan
Mankind's intelligence walks hand in hand with it's stupidity.
Being an atheist says nothing about your overall intelligence, it just means you don't believe in god. Atheists can be as bright as any scientist and as stupid as any creationist.
You never really know just how stupid someone is, until you've argued with them.
