Sexism - homosexuality

It really doesn't make sense that strictly heterosexual men can be sexist and misogynistic towards women. If these men do not like women or constantly boast that men are more attractive and superior, then why they hell are they concealing their same-sex attraction and get on with heterosexual relations? It only makes these men really dishonest and hypocritical.

Can anyone shed light to me on what is it that makes men tick about women?

This is absurd.

Males (both heterosexual and homosexual) are misogynistic and sexist because they have been taught that they are superior beings.  There is a meta message in most human cultures that seeps into males as young as 3 - 4 that females are "less than" they are.  There is a huge message in most media that women are placed on this earth for men's USE.  (A rampant problem in Abrahamic religions but definitely not limited to them.)  The diminishment of female value has no connection with attraction.  Heterosexual males all over the planet can see attractiveness in this "thing" that exists for their use.  This does not mean that most heterosexual males are nauseated when making out with a women and hiding gay porn and enjoying it in secret.  That's ridiculous.
    Homosexual males are also quite prone to misogyny -- partly for the reasons that you seem to be implying.  I have met a lot of gay males who truly believe that the male form and intellect are superior, and snidely refer to women as "fish" or "breeders".  

If you are a male and having trouble understanding "what makes men tick about women" - - well, we'll happily welcome another gay man to the forum.  You'll be in good company.

Most men in 1st world countries arent sexist against women. In fact, more and more people are beginning to hate men. In media, we are taught that all men are sexist and women are oppressed, so now we have a culture of people trying not to make women feel opressed. Women are typically treated better now in most regards. Im sorry for going off on a tangent about that point alone, but I am sick of people acting like all men are sexist when I have multiple male friends from different parts of the world who are perfectly respectful and treat me like anyone else.
