I am in a very close relationship with a 61 year old woman , whose mother, 60 years ago was forced to make such a decision. Between grabbing a 2 year old girl or her 4 year old brother. This occurred in a flash flood in the Sonoran Desert. Talk about Sophie's Choice! I know this topic presents philosophical and theist "gotcha" moments but in real life it creates interpersonal and intergenerational ripple effects. Just saying!
