Wasn't crazy about it but it sure gives a vivid idea of what the world must look like from the point of view of someone raised in slavery. Pretty easy to see how little prepared they would have been to provide an adequate start for their own kids. Over time we can hope that would dissipate just like the advantage enjoyed by the old money fortunes which were made on the backs of those enslaved.
I don't think we're helping it to dissipate by telling certain people that they don't have a chance at success on their own and need the government to lean on.
Damn you are dense. NOBODY is advocating a Stalin nanny state IDIOT!
Laws before the Great Depression lead up to the great depression. There was virtually NO middle class prior. Our social safety nets, and graduated tax code that were formed climbing out of the Great Depression, ARE WHAT BUILT OUR MIDDLE CLASS.
I am sorry someone sold you the BULLSHIT attitude that social safety nets are communist ideas. If you hate communism so much, then you should NOT be voting for a fucking party that wants us to replicate China's authoritarian capitalism here. China is a communist country, AND they allow western business to exist there. Is that what you think we should look like? You think global competition is about sweat shop labor and sweat shop wages? GREAT, then go move there if that is what you think.
We are not a mono class society. All classes have the right to vote here. We are not a one party state either. Don't like it? TOO FUCKING BAD!
Get this through your tiny pea brain, NOBODY IS ADVOCATING STALIN'S COMMUNISM. GROW THE FUCK UP!
