@Anom
That's the real irony of it. The rightwing nutters in the US doesn't give a single shit about a "free" market. They want a racket. Rackets aren't free by any sensible description of the word. So OFC -somebody- has to actually do the work of ensuring that the markets remain relatively free in the face of that intense profiteering impulse. That this work falls on people deeply suspicious of market actors is, firstly, pure coincidence..and secondly....entirely responsible.
My suggestion, is that if there are people disaffected by the american "left" handling market regulation..then they should prop up credible candidates on the right. That's obviously too much to ask, and..frankly, does anyone believe that Joe Republican Citizen has any power whatsoever on that count? His pockets just aren't deep enough. Repeat ad infinutum for the disaffected left. Aren't we tired of pretending that any of these people are free market advocates rather than corporate shills? This is an issue over which there is broad bipartisan agreement from the bottom....shuffled aside only by the loyalties of the plebs to their owners respective faction at the top.

I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!
