I can kinda see both sides, to be honest. The dance is voluntary. If you don't feel comfortable with the rules, don't go to the dance.

Aside from the idea that they're teaching kids that even their own body is not their own to run as they see fit, they're also teaching kids that obedience is paramount.

Learning how to deal with rejection is part of growing up.
