This is silly. As a child, I can only think of instances where it was an adult who did the hugging/patting, and it was uncomfortable, but you don’t say anything because it’s hard to verbalize. As an adult...I’m an adult, so I can make an adult decision whether or not I’m going to allow a person to touch me. It’s up to me if I’m going to endure an unwanted touch. It’s my decision. No one is forcing me or threatening me with consequences.
