I finished writing it, but I still need to edit it. The editing is not going to happen until I can get a new laptop and have an apartment where I can sit comfortably to do what needs to be done. Overall, pre-editing, it is roughly eighty thousand words long; I figure it will be longer when I have edited it. As it stands, there are ninety-eight short chapters in the novel. I decided to go the short chapter route, which plenty of authors have done with their modern fiction novels lately.
The title of the novel is The Philistine.
It is male/male gay fiction with several very explicit sex scenes that one would expect to read in a porn magazine. It is from a first person perspective and there are four main characters. Three gay males and one female fag-hag. It opens with the life of a typical gay male attending high school in a small college town. Everything seems normal until a crime is committed. In no way do the main characters place themselves into the investigation, because they are just high school kids, after all, but when a seemingly supernatural twist erupts among them, they end up fighting for their lives.
The main, first person, character is an atheist and his thoughts on religion are made clear throughout the novel. He even attempts at reconciling the seemingly supernatural events unfolding before him with his view of reality, wondering if he is going insane or if the people around him are crazy.
Everything is resolved in the end, of course.
