I think you are forgetting all the Nobel Prizes for Science awarded to the many and various interventionist deities.
And think of the pressure those deities are under to ensure that each and every scientific experiment came out with consistent results. I mean, once you've intervened once, you have to keep doing it in the exact same way every time.
