I'm curious to know which Democrat-sponsored policies you think specifically resulted in these jobs losses. Much of it appears to be the result of automation, on the one hand, and changing markets on the other. It seems odd that angry, out-of-work voters would throw in with the party that most fully embraces capitalism in all its destructive/creative glory. True, Trump sold economic nationalism, but it strikes me as naïve to think that the party he temporarily leads would abandon a cornerstone of their economic worldview just to accommodate him.
I didn't say anything about democrat policies here. I just said that those once loyal blue collar workers in the Rust Belt and Coal States who hadn't voted for a Republican presidential candidate in 30 years figured they had enough of the Dems and broke for Trump. Why do you suppose that was?

Conning people into voting against their own self interests is what the GOP has been doing since Reagan. This has nothing to do with Dems ideas AS VOTERS.

When you look at the balance of power as an AVERAGE since Reagan with ALL THREE branches, the GOP has dominated our government. The only thing our politicians can be accused of is being  held hostage by the GOP in that time. As voters, unfortunately, we gave up after Reagan successfully busted the air traffic control unions. Our SCOTUS over that period of time has sided 99% of the time with big corporations.

We value AS VOTERS the right thing. We value livable wages. We value higher education that does not bankrupt those seeking it. We value affordable health care. We value workers having a seat at the table. The GOP has gerrymandered the voting districts nationwide too in that time.

THE GOP is responsible for our exploding pay gap in that time.

You look at the amount of taxes in 1948 and the explosion of unions after WW2, vs the slow decline Reagan started, it is clear that trickle down is bullshit.

Dems as voters have only failed in one respect, we don't partake enough in local and midterm elections, that in turn does not give our politicians a long enough time to make things work. But I do see that changing.

I do hope 45 keeps shooting his mouth off. I think he will destroy the GOP and I hope he does. If the GOP expects to survive long term, it better start being honest and stop being corporate whores.

45 is even too damned stupid to know his words can hurt the stock market, and the past two days, are not the first time that idiot has said stupid crap that could potentially tank the economy.

The only thing you are saying here is voters can and do vote against their own self interests.
