What do you suggest, V?  That they shoot him on sight?  That only works if the suspect is black.  There are only a handful of states that permit the police to intervene to seize guns upon a court order to do so and only if a family member makes a specific request.  Florida is not one of those states.

For the record the people he was living with did not think he was "violent."  Obviously, the devil is in the details.
