Whatever the case may be, moral of the story is this:

For supressing cough, take Tessalon.

To drain sinuses by thinning the mucus, take Guaifenesin (in whatever brand).

Dextromethorphan is useless. Do not take it.

Tessalon has side effects of hallucinations. If you are going to suffer those side effects,  might as well have euphoria along with it. Codeine!
