What are you talking about?  People are going to have sex; should have sex, mostly for fun, and sometimes to make a baby.  We seem agree on this.  Contraception is very effective, though not infallible.  I think we can agree on that point as well.  Can we proceed?

OK, proceed. Tell me what you think the significance of the above is with regard to abortion. I don't see it. Yes, people have sex for fun. We agree on that. I don't see that that implies a certain single conclusion with regard to abortion. You need to explain the logical connection between sex for pleasure, and the right (or not) to abortion.

My point is that simply preaching to women to keep their legs closed unless they’re fully prepared to have a baby doesn’t stop people from having sex, and it doesn’t decrease unwanted pregnancies.  So, I’m left to wonder if you’re genuinely concerned with preventing unwanted pregnancies, or if your “be responsible cuz sex makes babies, duh” rhetoric is just the nasty response you keep in your back pocket to throw into women’s faces after the fact.  Seems you’d rather just ban abortions without discussion, and then smugly lay blame on any woman who finds herself in that predicament after the fact. I mean, banning abortions doesn’t even decrease abortions.  So, is it that you really care about the unborn lives, or do you just want the satisfaction of seeing sluts get punished for being the sluty sluts that they are?
