Some Facts: from http://www.abort73.com/abortion_facts/us...tatistics/
If 51% of abortions in the U.S. in 2008 where despite the use of contraception, then I'm going to assume that 49% had sex without the use of contraceptives. Do you disagree with this? Do you think that some percentage of that, should include those who abstained from sex?
I agree, that just saying not to have sex if you are not prepared to have a resulting child, doesn't result in less unplanned pregnancies. It has to actually happen. People need to realize that they are responsible for what happens from one's actions (whether intended or not). That you cannot just kill a human being to cover up for your indiscretions. If you are willing to kill someone to not have a child, then you should not be having sex.
Quote:Now I'm going to make some inferences from this data. You can tell me if you agree.
- Induced abortions usually result from unintended pregnancies, which often occur despite the use of contraception (CDC).
- In 2008, 51% of women having abortions used a contraceptive method during the month they became pregnant. (AGI).
- 9 in 10 women at risk of unintended pregnancy are using a contraceptive method (AGI).
- Oral contraceptives, the most widely used reversible method of contraception, carry failure rates of 6 to 8% in actual practice (NAF).
