I didn’t ask you what you thought, did I? You offered up what you thought in a previous post; that women should not have the option to terminate a pregnancy on the grounds of rape, and I’m educating you on what that means for the rape victim. I’m sorry you don’t like the ugly reality of your position, but that’s exactly what it is.  Maybe you should think on that for a bit before you respond again.

Edit to add:  One might think that using rape in such a rhetorical way, and in comparing pregnancy to being raped, that it is you who minimize and don’t respect the issue!

And I think that you shouldn’t be talking about women’s sexual and reproductive issues when it’s clear you have neither the understanding, nor the empathy required to do so. Do you know that a rape victim can have her PTSD triggered during the labor and delivery of even a wanted pregnancy? You really don’t see how forcing a woman’s body to physically accommodate her rapist’s offspring is like forcing her to relive her trauma over and over? You’re a man. You don’t even know what the physical experience of pregnancy feels like for a woman. I’ll explain it to you, because I’ve done it. Twice.

You are being stretched from the inside out; a force that feels beyond what your body is capable of sustaining; pain, pressure, and sometimes agony. Your pelvis, cervix, and vaginal canal are bore down upon. There are times when you can’t even breathe, or control your bodily functions. And, you have absolutely no control over what’s going on inside of you. I think you should do a bit of reading and a bit of thinking, and I'm not talking about your damn Bible.
