What you don't get is that I feel the same way - just because I'm against abortion doesn't mean that I'm placing expectations on when and how women should be having sex.
You expect them to not have sex unless they are fully prepared to have a baby. Which we have already established is an unrealistic expectation as evidenced by the data.
Quote:Yet, you and others keep trying to push that narrative.
It’s the same narrative.
Quote:And I haven't preached abstinence only. You're pushing a false narrative.
‘Go ahead and have sex; that’s fine. But, if you get pregnant, that’s on you. If you didn’t want a baby, then you shouldn’t have been having sex.”
That’s the same damn thing. You’re just saying it post-event, which is as useless as saying it pre-event, lol.
Quote:You keep falling back on women's right to have sex.
No, no. You were the one who said that the subject of sex was necessarily relevant when talking about pregnancy.
Quote:Why do you think sex feels good in the first place? From an evolutionary point of view we're nothing more than machines that pass along our DNA.
Sure. But that doesn’t mean it’s necessary we attempt to do so every time we engage in sexual intercourse, lol.
Quote:I, OTOH, don’t think we should be quite so restrictive. I think the issue deserves more consideration than that. That is my personal, individual moral judgement, and I understand that people disagree. I’m open to dialogue on the subject.
Quote:With whom are you open to dialogue? You sure don't seem open to rational discussion with people who choose conception as the cutoff.
That’s not true at all. If I gave you that impression it was the wrong one. I am extremely, internally conflicted on the subject of abortion in general.
Quote:What on earth are you taking about?! It’s like you are incapable of talking about unwanted pregnancies without the notion of blame attached to them, lol. I am not slut-shaming a women for wanting an abortion, even if I believe that abortion would be immoral. Why is this concept so hard for you to grasp?
Quote:Because that's exactly what you do with people who would be more restrictive than you.
No. Why are you having such a hard time with this?
Action A: woman has sex
Event B: Pregnancy happens
Action/s C: Woman aks for an abortion, and it is performed
It doesn’t follow that making a personal, moral judgement about action/s C means that I am necessarily making a personal, moral judgement about action A.

oh wait, they fucking wouldn't. Because they don't give two fucks about the fetus. They care about telling a woman what she can and can't do with her body. Which is why so many of those fucks are anti-protection fucks too.
QFT.
